pretext/text/context 1

Dr.Lane explained how to look at life in the simplest form. We always seem to want a complex explanation for any question we are looking for. He explains that we can start with the basics whish are pretext, text and context. An exampe given was the Britannica Encyclopedia. People always seem to assimilate the encyclopedia with alphabet manipulation. They don't understand how the information is simple. The encyclopedia was put together by words, sentences, paragraphs, the page, and then the chapter. If people try to leave any part of that information out then it wouldn't be called an encyclopedia.

My overall view is to always start with the basics. For instance lets look at reading. When you are learning how to read you start with recognizing the letters in the alphabet. Then you go on to learn the sounds each letter makes. Once you learn both of these things you are ready to be taught how to blend the letters to make words. Therefore, when your in a situation that new vocabulary is presented always remember to go back to those basic tecniques you where taught.
